Welcome aboard my journey! Here, you will be able to take a trip and explore the many perspectives of Ms.PoeticSoul, one of growth, elevation, and evolution.!
Hey beautiful souls ! My name is Lynnae! I am a mother, poet, spoken word artist, mentor, motivational speaker, writer, and published author. I go by Ms.PoeticSoul and I provide Nourishment for the Mind and Food for the Soul with a purpose to encourage empower, inspire, and teach through my poetry and spoken word. In other words, I utilize my platform to help others by sharing my personal experiences, global issues, knowledge, and research in my poetry to shed light on various topics, encourage self reflection, promote growth, and ultimately inform the public.
The name Ms.PoeticSoul didn't come to me easily. Initially, I wasn't going to have a stage/artistry name but I decided to come up with one simply because I was over confirming my name with MC's prior to performing. It was rare that my name was pronounced my name correctly. I had a few names suggested to me from close friends but none seemed stick so I let it go. One night, I was engulfed in my writing (about three weeks later) and it came to me in a thought, "since it's poetry that I write, which is derived from my soul, but I didn't want my gender to be mysterious, so I added Ms in front that's M S period."
I had a pretty complicated childhood growing up but that is what helped mold me into who I'm evolving more into everyday so I'm thankful for the lessons, blessings, and experiences good and bad. My poetry initially developed from vented journalism. I used writing as an outlet during my childhood. I had a tendency to retain my emotions which never had success in resolving my issues. The simple stroke of my pen or pencil against paper had became so rhythmic for me. It was so satisfying and gave me a sense of control when I felt I had none over my life. Overtime, I have learned that my purpose is beyond me. As I began to share my poems publicly. In places such as, local open mics, Historically Black Universities, Women and youth Empowerment conferences, community outreach events, and internationally, most recently in Belize atop the Temple of the Sun god of the Mayan Ruins. Upon seeing the impact my words made on others, it planted a seed that soon sprouted into the idea that my messages needed to be heard and shared with others.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments! I’d love to hear from you!
